Most personal grooming tools are built to be replaced. Few are built to be kept.
Plastic housings. Noisy motors. Fixed cutting systems. Parts that can't be serviced. They dull, they loosen, they grow louder — until buying another one simply feels normal.
We have accepted this for a long time. We no longer think we should. That is why we are building AERON.
The best everyday tools disappear into the routine. That is the point.
We are tuning the drive for steady control through coarse hair rather than chasing a higher number. The goal is an instrument that feels composed in the hand — a choice, not a spec.
A development direction, not a final specification.
A machined body is chosen because it lasts and ages well — not because it is the cheapest way to make a housing.
Aluminum body is a current design direction, subject to development.
The parts that wear should be reachable. A tool sealed against service is a tool designed to be thrown away.
The cutting head takes the wear. The body should not pay for it. Replace the head — and keep the instrument.
Why replace only the head instead of the whole instrument? Because replacing everything to fix one worn part never made much sense.
“I’ve thrown away enough things that should have been built better. AERON is my attempt to build one that doesn’t deserve that ending.”
